Is this a two wire contact unit?

No it is a four wire unit , an open and closed pair of contacts for the magnetic reed switch and a closed pair to use as a tamper indicator . There are instruction telling which pair is which , but a continuity meter can easily confirm this.

Made strong and should last.

Have two fitted in my garage and they tested fine. They look good quality and should last many years. Bit pricey, but I did specify the 1 metre armoured lead, so that was extra.
