Attention, shoppers: Former King of Queens star Kevin James makes the successful leap to big screen leading man with this Die Hard meets Home Alone slapstick comedy produced by Adam Sandler. In his most empathetic role since his endearing scene-stealing turn in Hitch , James (who also co-wrote the script) stars as biggest loser Paul Blart, a 10-year veteran of the West Orange, New Jersey shopping mall, where he gets no respect from taunting kids who pelt him with ball pit orbs, or a senior who brazenly violates Bart's strictly enforced speed limit in his motorized wheelchair. The film is slow to get rolling as it lays on the pathos as thick as the peanut butter the lonely, overweight and socially awkward Blart spreads on his pies ("Food fills the cracks in he heart", he tells his mother). But then, a band of cycling, skateboarding thieves presumably recruited from the X games take over the mall on so-called Black Friday, the busiest holiday season shopping day. Blart is "untrained, unarmed, and presents a huge target", but, like a plus-size John McClane on a Segway, he is the wild card determined to stop them and rescue his unrequited crush (Jayma Mays) who has been taken hostage. James carries the film on his massive shoulders (the supporting cast is strictly discount outlet, with comedian Adam Ferrara as a sympathetic cop and Bobby Cannavale from Will & Grace and Third Watch as a bullying SWAT team leader the most familiar faces). He proves himself to be an impressively agile physical comedian and he's game for every body slam, pratfall and tumble. Rated PG for mild violence, a few profanities, and a couple of gross-out gags, Paul Blart: Mall Cop is less crude than previous Sandler productions, more The Benchwarmers than Deuce Bigalow . --Donald Liebenson, desertcart.com With a heart that won't quit, a stomach that won't stop gurgling and a self-sworn oath to protect his turf, he's Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Mild-mannered Paul Blart (Kevin James, "The King of Queens") has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day. Good, Funny, Family film
Another great film from Kevin James, what a talented man, he co-wrote and co-directed this film, as well as taking the lead role. A really good family film, with no bad language, no sex scenes, comic 'violence', and very entertaining. My favourite film from Kevin James is 'Zookeeper', but this is a close second, it will be well played.

A movie for segway fans
Not the greatest movie ever made, but reasonably funny and feel good, especially for fans of the segway. A good choice for a quiet night in with the partner of your choice and a bottle of wine.

Kevin James makes another hit...
This film really is a gem - in a world where comedies have to be raunchy to be "funny", this film is an exception: it's funny without all the swearing and sex jokes that litter the supposed "comedies" nowadays. Judd Apatow, I'm looking at you. I don't mind those sorts of films, it's just that comedies seem to be aimed at either kids or adults, with no middle ground. This film reminded me of something John Candy would make back in the '80s, Uncle Buck and the like, comedies suitable for the whole family. I'd be happy letting anyone watching this, there's nothing unsuitable in it, and a bonus is that it's hilarious. N.B. Make sure to stay watching during the credits, or you'll miss the resolve of the ending.

Has Elements of Humor
I admit that this rental of Paul Blart Mall Cop was a film that I decided to recently rent via Amazon around 602 pm this past Tuesday July 2 2019. I actually enjoyed the film more than I expected to which influences my decision to go ahead with purchasing via the film Amazon to watch sometime within the next month andor less. This film features Kevin James as a mall security employee named Paul Blart who is more intense about this job than other employees around him. Even one of the newer mall employees that Paul is training Veck (played by Keir O’Donnell) is surprised by how serious Paul Blart is about this job. The routine of Paul Blart’s life is made happier when he meets Amy Anderson (Jayma Mays) who gets his heart fluttering. One of the additional bright points of Paul Blart’s life includes the life that he has with his mother Margaret Blart (Shirley Knight) and his daughter Maya Blart (Raini Rodriguez). He is also friends with Leon (Jamal Mixon) and Vijay (Erick Avari).Paul Blart’s life becomes even more changed/shaken up after a major security event at the mall around the holidays occurs that is directly affects him and multiple other people. This results in the character of Blart having greater communication with Sergeant Howard (Adam Ferrara), Chief Brooks (Peter Gerety), and Commander James Kent (Bobby Cannavale).
