It's clear and has a low-profile rubberized clip at the top. As a writer, I have plenty of clipboards around, especially for multiple projects and breaking stories. Better than metal, because they don't get cold in winter or hot in the sun.

first, this clipboard has ruler markings down the sides, which the image online does not show. i had hoped for a plain clear clipboard, and i feel misled by the image posted on amazon, which advertises a clear board.second, this clipboard arrives in plastic packaging that's impossible to fully remove. you cannot succeed in fully extricating the plastic wedged between the board and the underside of the clip (which you can see, since this board's clear).all in all, it's not a bad price, and it works, but it also disappoints.

Nothing!! I can’t believe the plastic is not checked before wrapping? It’s badly scratched underneath!I could have bought one in the solar tree! I didn’t because I wanted clear plastic!It’s to be used at a Baby Shower! Don’t have time for taking pictures. Gave it one star for Ruler.

This clipboard was scratched, smudged and otherwise unattractive. It has poor quality material, too, as there is already a chip out of one corner. I needed this for my job and didn't have time to wait for another. It serves its purpose, but really could have been handled better in the packaging/shipping.
