All BioWhittakerÂ media are formulated according to recommendations from the Tissue Culture Association and manufactured under cGMP regulations. Liquid media lots are tested for sterility in accordance with the U.S. Pharmacopoeia membrane filtration procedure. In addition, they are tested for pH, osmolality, and cell growth promotion. If required, products are also tested for endotoxin concentration. Insect-XPRESSâ„ media are protein-free and designed to support the growth of Spodoptera frugiperda Sf9 and Sf21 cell lines. They also support the production of recombinant proteins by cells infected with viral vectors. For cryopreservation of insect cells, mix one-part Insect-XPRESSâ„ 50:50 with one-part cryoprotective medium (12001-550). Store all media at 2 to 8Â°C (36 to 46Â°F).
