Rit All-Purpose Liquid Dye for Cotton, Linen, Rayon, Silk, Wool, Nylon, Wood and More

Indigo color is beautiful! The lace dress is viscose lining and polyester lace. I love how the lining took the color but the lace didn’t. It also worked great to color white cotton overalls and a lavender and white pattered cotton t shirt, and several other items. I used the whole 8oz bottle and a cup of salt, little bit of dish soap and 6 gallons of tap hot water for 30 minutes.

I had an off-white 100% mulberry silk pillow that incurred an orange hair dye stain. I followed the directions with approximate temperature, amount of vinegar, and time, and the results were fantastic! I stirred gently every 3-5 min because I didn't want to damage the silk, and it still came out perfectly even. I then took it out and dyed two other shirts that were cotton (so I just added some salt, left in the vinegar) and they came out great also! I think I could've just kept on dying anything else afterwards with that solution if I had wanted to. Just remove the dyed garment and put in the next one. I have a LOT of clothes I want to dye black, so maybe I'd only need one bottle to do all of them. On my off-white pillowcase, it came out a darker brown than the packaging color, almost dark chocolate but keeping that warm rich brown. If I took it out earlier, it'd probably be the color on the bottle - it's nice to be able to customize the shade. The only thing that was a bit of a hassle was rinsing out the dye until the water ran clear. That took... awhile. But so worth it! The first few launderings, the water did turn brown, so use caution with whites.

Dyed a white skirt yellow for a Kpop Demon Hunters Mira costume last Halloween. It turned out great, a true lemon yellow exactly as described on the package and online (wanted golden yellow but it was sold out), and was easy to use with no experience. It still looks the same after I washed it, so can reuse next year. I'm buying the same dye again to dye a white top yellow for a Sabrina Carpenter outfit for Coachella. So far it seems ok, I had about 5 pounds of towels I wanted to dye, to match my bathroom, and didn't want to spend the money to buy new ones and have way more than I needed. I used 4 dark green bottles, and 3 of the color stay bottles. the video is a little too fast so i had to pause it every 2 seconds after already watching it twice to make sure i had all the necessary resources. This is how they turned out. After the cost of the dyes plus the additive, plus time and labor and clean up, I'm truly undecided if I really should have just spent about the same on new, already colored towels. If my review changes from 4 stars to less, it is because the color DID run, and isn't as stable as I would have hoped, liked, or anticipated, even with the addition of the color stay bottles. Since I wanted to do all of them in one go, I used 2 27 gallon storage totes, filled it with hot water in my shower, and even added about 4 pots of boiling water. Pic of tote and my size 6 flops for scale. The instructions were so fast I didn't realize I also needed hot water for the additives, too. After a lot of wringing, I used the cold water plus ice to help rinse out excess, as well as a spinner machine to get excess water out. I then also used the cold wash setting on my washer, and decided to give the towels a break. I then washed them on warm like the instructions said, this time with very little detergent. The whole process was a bit tedious, so, looking back, probably would have just opted for new towels, especially since there's the potential for color fade as time goes on (which I've never had an issue with with my store bought towels) ... time will tell

Dyed some white flannel sheets & I LOVE THEM! The color cheers me & I'm so happy I did it. Warm, bright color--2 bottles to one washer with flannel cotton Queen sheet set & 6 cases.

I think this dye might have worked better if I had a larger container and more room for the fabric to move around. It did take color, but instead of the sage green I was hoping for, the final result was more of a muted blue with splotches of green throughout. That said, this bottle did arrive properly sealed, which I appreciated. I'm not entirely sure whether the uneven color was due to the product itself or my dyeing setup, so it's hard to be too critical. Overall, the dye did work, but the results weren't quite what I expected.

Works well on a variety of fabrics though the color changes. On cotton, it’s very brown. On synthetic its light brown. On cotton/poly blend its more of a maroon color. Keep that in mind.

Avevo giacchino e magliette bianche, ho utilizzato tutto il prodotto che dopo 15 minuti, con tintura a mano, ha raggiunto quello che volevo. Il giacchino è 20 cotone e resto poliestere, risultato eccellente.

Horrible! Para empezar, el color es azul, no es verde. Y para acabar, no tiñe fibras sintéticas, como sí afirman en el anuncio. Lo quería para teñir unas zapatillas de deporte. Adjunto fotos de lo mal que se han quedado. Deberían indemnizar por las prendas dañadas. Tengo que tirar a la basura estas zapatillas porque están detenidas y ya no me las puedo poner así.

The colour is very pretty. I have used it to dye some white bedding I never use and it looks store bought. From experience, whatever the directions say about the weight of the fabric be how much you will need please get the right amount of dye the first time!! The dye does get used up almost like it’s a physical thing in the water and as the fabric gets stirred through the water, the fabric catches the dye particles and keep them on the fabric. So even if the water still looks vibrant or dark with dye, the particles of actual dye that can stick to fabric might be mostly used up already. For example you want to dye 3 white towels and you dye them consecutively, the first one will very vibrant and take the colour on quickly. The second one will be medium and take longer to find useless colour particles. And the third one will be a pastel shade even if you soak it overnight, it can only grab the particles that are actually left in the water. If you dyed 3 towels simultaneously and swished them around and let them soak (actually swishing makes them catch the colour better) they will colour equally but the shade will be medium to light for all three if you don’t use the recommended amount of dye for the weight of fabric you’re using. I enjoyed having the multiple shades as it gives my bedding more dimension. But if you want uniformity for a set of bedding or a set of towels, you needs lots of dye and you have to dye them simultaneously to get a match. For this particular project, I used coral for natural fabrics like cotton, on cotton, and I used it in the washing machine itself on hot water, delicates cycle (so it both swishes and soaks for long periods) and on super wash so it goes for longer and gets an extra rinse. And the colour came out even and vibrant. I filled the washer (top loader) first and poured all the dye in and filled the bottle up with water a few times and dumped that in too, and once the washer was full and the dye was uniformly through all the water I swiftly add the sheets quickly but carefully adding a foot of fabric at a time so it was able to get fully saturated on its way in (a crumpled divert cover has lots of pockets of space colour might not reach if stuffed in as a ball). Then I used a bottle to push the fabric under water asap so it would collect the colour more evenly. After this you will need to run it through a wash cycle again as it will bleed a bit if you don’t. I personally wanted it to bleed and rewashwd it with another white sheet, and the sheet came out very light coral as it picked up some of the colour as it came off the original project. Using the washing machine method, you will want to run an empty cycle with bleach in it. I didn’t. I washed my whites after this to clean the washer for the next person and all my towels were very light pink. So your washer will keep a bit of colour in it after this process so wash similar colours right afterwards or run an empty load with bleach in it. Good luck. The brand quality is impressive.

Très bon produit. j'ai essayé une fois mais pas laisser longtemps sur ma perruque du coup la teinte était partielle. Je verrai la prochaine fois s'il teint comme il le faut en laissant plus lontemps
