If you put down a firm layer of sand first , then yes.

Can these be laid directly on to grass?

Yes as theres a membrane, but it won't be flat and level they would be all over the place

Is this suitable for a drive where vehicles are to be parked please? A couple of large 4x4s, one weighing three ton. Thanks

I think you need to check the manufacturers website and specifications, 2 3ton vehicles might be too much for this particular product but they do advertise for commercial use. All the specification sheets are available on the website in pdf format
