I remember these in primary school back in the 70s and 80's - I absolutely love them, putting them together to make different shapes and when you lift them up and look through them, they would change the colour of the room.This tub is absolutely full of shapes, all in beautiful colours, all with nice smooth edges so no problems for little children using them. The tub is a lot bigger than I expected and there is a lot more shapes than I expected.They are so lovely just to tip them out on a table and start making patterns and pictures.I've enjoyed playing with them for now but I did however get them for my grandchildren - I just have visions of them throwing them around the room like ninja stars!!They are substantially made, Even if they do start throwing them around I have no worries about them breaking or shattering.They will absolutely love these, I'm not sure if I've seen anything like it before so I imagine I'll get a good hour of peace and quiet while they play with these!I think these are excellent value for money And they encourage creativity in children which is very important to me.

As I write this, this set is currently £9. A very retro inspired toy of hardwearing geometric shapes to construct 2D structures.The shapes are beautifully translucent and reflect sunlight into an array of rainbow shades which fascinates the little one.The set is designed for older children above the age of four - there are plenty of small parts!There are 126 pieces in 6 different colours & 7 unual shapes. I would have loves to see a short booklet included in the set displaying 2D structures to inspire our little ones to produce. This would have further broadened their understanding on pattern structure, symmetry, creativity, numbers.In all this is a very wonderful and perfectly durable so that it can be handed down to subsequent children. It has been made well enough to last a long time and the corners and edges are nice and rounded, minimising accidents.5 stars
