This microscope photo of a rose stem science pendant would make a great gift for a teacher, scientist, biologist or botanist. A thin section was cut through a rose stem and viewed under a polarised light microscope. Introducing a retarder into the light-path interferes with the light to give the colours seen (which have not been altered in Photoshop). The individual cells in the centre of the stem can clearly be seen. These colourful and interesting microscope photo pendants are 22mm in diameter and measure 34mm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant. The pendants are silver plated and supplied with an 18 inch (45cm) silver plated chain. The image has been printed onto glossy metal which is sealed underneath a glass magnifying dome which means there are reflections from both the metal and the glass resulting in the image having more 'depth'.
