Great deal for the price! I have thick and long hair, and it totally does the job. It holds everything and it’s super easy to use. It’s just plastic, but it’s durable and I don’t feel scared that it will break. I mostly use it for around the house or to go to sleep. I’m still trying to figure out how to make my hairdo look nice enough to go out in public because clip is more for a messy casual look. So don’t get your hopes up if you’re wanting a slick back look from this, but I recommend for anyone that just wants a clip to put keep their hair up and out of their face and neck and shoulders.

These banana clips are definitely made for thick hair. They’re matte (not shiny like in the pictures), which looks nice but does affect how they work. The clasp is strong and opens on both ends, which is actually pretty cool cause you don’t have to guess which side opens. That said, the design makes it a little tricky to grab all your hair in one smooth move. If you try the usual “scoop all the hair and clip” method, it can get tangled. Because of the matte finish, the combs don’t glide easily and kind of drags through the hair instead of sliding smoothly. I am returning these.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These combs (comes with two) are nice. They feel like they will be sturdy enough and my thick hair fits in them perfectly. They are a little hard to open once you get them closed. Easy enough to close. They don't feel like they will break as easily as another kind I also bought. Overall I would say good value for the price and I will probably buy again. UPDATE: I am revising my star rating from 5 to 3. I have worn these several times and they do NOT hold up my thick hair. They will be going in the garbage. I bought some shorter ones that I thought wouldn't work as well as these and they work better.
