First of all, this CRABCLAW device is not some magical cure, but it can (and does for me) provide temporary relief for certain types of neck issues. For example, I'm a senior citizen and have spent a lifetime working out in various gyms. Over the past 10 years, my neck vertebrae have begun to compress so badly, that now, whenever I turn my head left or right, it is painful (like a deeply ingrained headache). Just sitting down and watching TV on a couch becomes painful in my neck area, or worse yet, while seated by my computer. Sure, I've tried heating pads and they might provide temporary relief, but the moment you remove the heat - well, the pain returns. So what to do? I saw this Cervical Neck Traction Device (boy, now that sounds like a fancy medical term, doesn't it) on Amazon, and at that low price, I had to order it. Now I was fully anticipating this device to be another cheap piece of junk (like snake oil)- given it's low price. When it arrived (quick shipping), I began to experiment with it. The first thing I discovered is "NOT TO USE THE VELCRO NECK STRAPS" (there are 2 of them). Instead, just attach the U-shaped device to your neck and begin pumping. What occurs then is that the majority of stretching (to use that term), occurs behind your neck, with a little on the sides. Now, if you were to fasten the velcro straps, what I found was that as the device inflates, the velcro straps can irritate the front of your neck, but more so, the device inflation on the sides "can" or "might" apply pressure to your carotid artery, thus giving you a different type of headache or discomfort. I noticed this right away, and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that the device works better with the velcro straps not engaged. The big question is, "does it work?" Well, yes it does - to a point! It's not going to cure your headaches, but it will provide relief. Right now, as I am typing this on my desktop PC, I'm wearing mine and I have no neck pain at all. It provides added relief when you're sitting at a computer because what often occurs is that your head is being either forced down or up (depending on how you have your seat adjusted). That can provide additional pressure and give you headaches. So, this device has surprised me. I wear it for around an hour while watching TV, and also wear it while seated at my desktop computer. It provides added relief when needed. Well, what about the negatives, some might ask? Keep in mind that this device is not a cure-all or permanent fix. It does what it was advertised to do - and again, wear how I recommended it. The only negative that I can add is that the the black hand rubber inflation device (that you squeeze), easily comes off while depressing, so keep that in mind. So given its ridiculously low price and the fact that it does provide temporary relief, I find this CRABCLAW Cervical Neck Traction Device to be a pleasant surprise. That's why I'm giving it the full 5 stars. As always, your mileage may vary (YMMV) - everything is subjective.

I bought this device to help me with my neck pain and cracking. I had purchased four other devices to help me with this issue and I was desperate and in alot of pain. I really felt like for the price I had nothing to loose. I was so surprised when I began using this device the relief it has given me. I use it about 4 times a day now between 5 and 10 minutes at a time and as blown up as I can stand it. This will really help and its so easy to use. So I am getting better. Love this device.

It was easy enough to get out of the package and start using immediately. All in all, I felt safe while using it while also feeling a good stretch in my neck no pops or cracks like you would hope for on an offside chance, but over the course of the next few weeks, I will use it as instructed twice a day for 15 minutes and see how the stretch works

I just got this and use it for the first time. Right out of the box it feels much smaller and tighter than the one I had before. The straps are choking me and it feels like they won't last long . After few minutes I'm not comfortable at all. Might be ok for a smaller person. I don't have any other option than give it a chance and see if it does the job. Update after the first use. It did provide some relief from the pinched nerve, but I couldn't wait to take it off. Update: Purchased a similar product which offers 3 different sizes and a huge improvement in quality and comfort. I am keeping that one, especially after seeing (and feeling) the difference.

My opinion (and I know, opinions are like armpits - everyone has them and most stink - is that this isn’t worth your time. First, the ball you squeeze constantly falls off the tube to inflate/deflate. Yes, you could add a zip tie but I shouldn’t have to do that on first use (or any other use). It’s a design flaw. Second: the straps are Velcro and unless you have someone else align them, or you’re standing in front of a mirror, they don’t attach properly and end up digging into your neck when it’s inflated. Third, it doesn’t actually stretch your neck. The design is that it sits on your shoulders and then it just rides up around your face putting awkward pressure on your face without actually stretching the neck. Yes, I have a normal face/neck/physique. You simply end up letting your shoulders “droop” to compensate for the facial pressure thereby circumventing the entire purpose. I’ve tried multiple times and it just doesn’t work for me. It’s too abrasive feeling; it’s not worth the money,; it takes over 100 squeezes of the ball to get it to even remotely feel like it’s stretching anything (but again, it’s not - it doesn’t fit well and it’s just putting pressure on your cheeks). I trashed mine after just 5 uses and don’t recommend to any adult.

Did just what I needed. I have a cervical stenosis that was giving me pain issues in my shoulder and right arm and numbness/tingling in my right hand. Using this device 25 min/day four or five days a week, after dinner and before bedtime, combined with targeted stretching and strength exercises cleared up my issues. I had been doing the stretching/strength work but the problem did not go away till I added in the traction pillow. After using it for 2.5 years (well outside of their warranty period) it developed a leak. I contacted their customer service group at the email address provided in the manual and received a response the same day. They helped me with the problem. Great product and great support.

I had an Xray and was diagnosed with Cervical Kyphosis otherwise known as Military Neck. This was due to a workout session that I took a 'bit' too seriously. Ive been using this for about a week and my neck is already showing signs of getting better. Sadly, I am a bit late dealing with this injury as its been about 3 years now and I only started seriously heal this injury a month ago. I've been taking medicine for about a year now for it but what helped more than anything was using this, a special pillow, and doing neck workouts using a tension band. Since then my neck has been showing signs of healing. This product has helped by far the most. The goal is to put pressure to raise your spine up so that the spine can naturally heal itself and increase blood flow through the neck. I never imagined this product would be so effective but I wouldn't recommend using it for only an hour a day. I would recommend using it as long as you are comfortable with while doing neck exercises and taking medicine for it. That way your neck doesn't get weak from excessive use, can heal faster, and mixing this will working out in general helps tremendously. I use barbells daily. I used to have fatigue, headaches, muscle aches, and just trouble working out but slowly but surely I can tell I am getting better and my injury is FINALLY healing. My recommendation on using this product is this: Make sure to uninflate it and reinflate it properly as it needs to align to your neck properly. Otherwise it won't work as well. Don't inflate it too much at first, at first make it inflate very gently and slowly increase the inflation as time goes on and force yourself to sit up straighter. Don't inflate it so much that sitting up straight is putting pressure on your neck. You want just enough pressure where if you lean your neck forward you can feel the pressure but if you sit up straight in a proper position you barely feel any pressure. That to me is the perfect amount. If you have military neck I strongly recommend trying to lift barbells while using this product as it will help keep your neck straight and help strengthen the neck while wearing it. Of course, take it easy and don't overdo it. I learned that the hard way.
