I love to weave linen and this book takes you through all aspects of the flax plant from seed to cloth. It is very well written and informative.

Gives all the information you need to grow, process, spin, knit and weave flax/linen. Great tips on dressing a distaff and for weaving linen.

Love this book!! The mix of history, how to, and modern techniques makes for interesting reading, and an incredible appreciation for linen! The clear and concise way the book is written, has us planning to try the whole process this summer. I found this book to be an easy, progressive read, pumped full of information, and interesting facts. I am dazzling my friends with all my new-found, fascinating knowledge!!

There is an awful lot of information, it is going to take me ages to read it thoroughly.

某所で、この本をお勧めですという話を耳にして、早速注文しました。若干の疑問を抱きつつも、織りの本であることを期待していたのですが…、違ってました。これは、麻という植物と、私たちの生活にかかわる学術専門書です。興味深い写真や資料がたくさん掲載されており、じっくり読み解けばおもしろいと思います。英語が達者な人ならば。資料を手掛かりに本文を読み解こうにも、いかんせん、英文の量が多い。洋書は、興味のあるところだけつまみ食いをするように読む自分には、不向きでした。半ばほどに、リネンを使った織り物についての詳細な記述があります。手描きの組織図も転載されていて、興味深かったです。でも、その組織図だけのために買うには、ボリュームがありすぎ…。いい本なんでしょうけど、それ相応の英語力が要求されます。

The media could not be loaded.  Very good book for those who like to have everything in one - how to grow, how to process, how to weave.Includes some weaving project directions and charts, beautiful pictures.I love this book.
