Don't know, it broke the first time I used it and I threw it out. It was so cheaply made that Amazon needs to be ashamed for selling it!!!!!

Can i use this to crush almonds? Is it a risk for hard nuts compared to soft nuts like pistachio's?

Crushing Almonds was the main thing I bought this for. Unfortunately, the almonds were too hard and the tines bent to the point where it jammed. I attempted to straighten them but had no luck. Once the tines bend they have very little strength. I was very unimpressed with this chopper and threw it away.

is it Dish washer safe?

Thank you for asking. Norpro recommends the top portion of the Nut Chopper be hand-washed, while the glass bottom is dishwasher safe. Several customers have luck with top-shelf dishwashing the plastic piece, but we recommend following the manufacturer's hand-wash guideline. Although the blades are stainless steel, the plastic could become compromised and adversely affect chopper performance.
