350 Fabulous Writing Prompts: Thought-Provoking Springboards For Creative, Expository, and Journal Writing

Depending on the kind of students you have in your writing class, and their abilities, this book can be used for younger students in the 4th or 5th grade or even for more reluctant, older students, grades 6-8. There are a variety of writing prompts here that will appeal to even the most reluctant young student, covering topics such as "Tough decisions', "Did you ever?", "The Future", "School Situations", "When You Wish", "Desert Island", "Feelings" etc. There is even a segment titled "Grab Bag" wch contains some thought-provoking writing topics.

I picked this up to use with the 3rd-6th grade writing class I'm doing with some students. It looks helpful, and it does have some great writing prompts, but many of them feel very dated and/or dry. (For example, there's one that mentions O.J. Simpson -- someone I don't think many of my students know much about at this point -- and there are other very similar topics.)That said, it's a great premise, and I would love to see an updated version.

Works great for bellringers. Students are kept busy while taking attendance and preparing as a lead way into the lesson. Love the variety of choices.

Exactly what I was wanting so I don't have to come up with writing prompts each day. The authors even give suggestions on various ways to use the book. It's set up where you could go through it from left to right or you can skip around and choose different topics. Great addition to a classroom and/or homeschooling.

I chose 5 stars for this purchase because it was exactly what it was advertised as, a valuable classroom asset, quick and easy to use. Great for second language learners and those behind 2 or more grades with skills. This book was cheaper through amazon.

Even though it is nicely edited and have some good ideas, other prompts are online for free. I found that it is a good discussionBook, for opening new discussion ideas and also good for creativeWriting. Suits kids and kids only.

This book is working out perfectly, not just for our kids, but the whole family!

Really dated for the 90's. Some of the material kids would not be able to relate to today (such as the president at the time, etc.). Also really skewed to the USA market.

It wasn't quite what I thought - some good ideas but quite American Can be adapted I guess but I was looking for instant usefulness x
