Has a strong flavour of cheese, can easily be added into rice and curries when you eat. It’s not really possible to consume adequate or enough amount of it because of the strong flavour. A little goes a long way! Good quality!

Confusion about the ingredients
Urban Platter nutritional yeast flakes - Taste is good, but thats not what matters. I've bought this product for the Thiamine & Niacin that I'm assuming are natural & not fortified. On the jar it says that "All ingredients are produced by natural fermentation - not synthetic or animal sources" but on the front of the jar the label says " 100% vegan, non GMO & fortified". So what exactly is fortified? Thiamine & Niacin are the most important B-complex vitamins that are difficult to obtain in sufficient quantities from diet and thats why we are paying high price for nutritional yeast - to obtain these two vital vitamins in natural, bio available form. If these 2 ingredients are fortified, its like consuming sysnthetic vitamins & the purpose of nutritional yeast is defeated. The manufacturer should clarify whether the Thiamine & Niacin is wholly natural or partly synthetic.

Tastes good, keeps well
Easy pour and shake spouts. Good flavor. Nice convenience over trying to spoon bulk products onto food. UPDATED 8/23/26 This jar stayed fresh and delish over a year. (I was away for a while and returned. It kept very well.) Bought 2nd shaker, don't want to be without it, esp. to put on half slice of bread, mayo, yeast flakes then slice of cheese and melt it all in microwave.
