SHW 55 x 60 Commercial-Grade L-Shape Corner Office Computer Desk, Espresso

It all started with outbreak that...well, you know. Starting in March, I was forced to work from home and like most people, didn't have a desk large enough to accommodate both my personal computer and screen as well as my work computer and screens. Yeah, I probably could have just switched out the computers at the end of the day, but dang. That is too much work. To be honest, I really didn't have a desk. Until I bought this one, I had just moved in to a new house and was working from the kitchen island. You can imagine how uncomfortable that is. Not to mention, I lost cooking space. Anyway, long story short, I found this gem after hours of search different sites. Reading reviews, then getting confused and frustrated because well, all items have some negative reviews. Below is my review. 1. Packaging - although I don't have photos of the packaging, it was very well protected. Loads of foam. Boy, what a mess to throw away. But so worth it. 2. Assembly - very simple instructions. There was an iron wrenched included and it was super easy to set up. I put the long side against the wall at first, then decided to change it. So having to take both tops off is a pain, but overall, it isn't that bad. 3. Sturdiness - WOW! As you can see in the 3rd photo, I have my work station on a rising stand with 2 monitors with arms. That alone is heavy. This desk is so sturdy, there is no issues with the standing desk on top of it. On the other side, I have a shelf that I built for extra storage. I am a naturally cluttered person, so please don't judge. 4. Space - lots surface space. I just need to learn to organize better. Overall rating! I LOVE THIS DESK!!! I highly recommend anyone get this desk if they work from home, are a gamer, or even if you need a work table.

This by far was one of the easiest desks I have ever tried to assemble. Instructions were clear cut, and easy to read, everything was clearly marked, and once assembled, it is very sturdy.

Took some time to find a desk I liked but this fits my needs. Big, plenty of desk space and room underneath. I kept getting desks where I roll up to the desk or I swivel from one side of the L to the other my chair constantly rubbed against the desk or I wasn't able to sit where I wanted at the desk. I'm happy to say this desk has none of those issues and there's plenty of room under the desk. Plenty of space ontop of the desk and the metal legs seem far more sturdy than most desks using some fake wood as support. The thing was super easy to assemble and the instructions clear. My only concern with assembly is I might not take it apart for a decade and I suspect the metal pieces that slide into each other aren't going to want to separate after years of weight pushing them together. In hindsight I wish I had lubed those pieces up just so they'd come apart easier after years of having a weight push down on it and really bind those pieces of metal together. Hardly a concern. I hate stryofoam but I'm glad this thing was packaged together as well as it was. They use cheap plastic inserts on the corners of the boxes to absorb impacts. UPS definitely dropped this thing cause one of those plastic corners was completely shattered, the box ripped in spots, and a lot of the stryofoam broken. No desk parts were damaged. The packaging did it's job and survived UPS. If I had to complain about something I'd complain about the material the desk surface is made from. Seems similar to other fake woods that like to peel. We'll see how long it takes for the surface to start showing wear. Everything else about this desk is great. Honestly if the surface does start to degrade I'm just going to measure out the tops and have real wood tops made. Fortunately/unfortunately with how easy this thing is to assemble it would be easy enough to slap down some real wood ontop and screw that into the frame. To me that's a compliment to the design of the desk that I would rather replace the tops than buy an entirely new desk.

OVERALL This is not the best table you can find, obviously. It is the best for the money. MOUNTING I have to carry alone the box about 3 minutes from the office of my condo to my apartment and it was a strength and endurance task. It's possible, but it's hard. I'm a 40y man. Have spent 1-hour assembling. USING I bought this to use with CPU, a Monitor, a Display Pen, 2 Speakers, a Luminary and 2 organizer box over the desk. It fits. BEST There are no legs at the front corner. It is CRUCIAL since I use the corner to put the display because it the most ergonomic spot, NOT the branches. Some L Desks presents a front corner leg, which is atrocious once it kills the purpose of having an L Desk. DESIGN I love square designs. Being a designer myself, I know squares keep your house organized, and are the most rational to build, economical to produce, clean to look. In fact, the other table I was considering was under the same brand, SHW, so I suppose the designer is the same. NOT SO GREAT Color are reddish compared to the ad photo. I use a calibrated monitor, so it's not an excuse. Didn't fit with my furniture as I thought, but I'm not a celebrity that opens my house to architecture shows... so, never mind. Surface is easy to scratch. Table top is made of MDF, which is heavy. Metal frame presents some bends. Not an issue for me, because I hide it, putting the table against the wall. From the structural point of view, there was no problem. But it is a matter to consider because you can't count on that every time. Bad Leg shoes: Two of them lose border grips and runs up into the inside leg tube. CONCLUSION: The table is not made of the best quality materials, not a fancy product. But it delivers the job for me, which is to support my computer-audio-design stuff with good sturdiness, good ergonomics, and a cheap price. I just tried to be fair in my review. For me, the product works, and I was the best choice.

It’s a great size and it’s really easy to put together. I will definitely buy one for my wife’s office.

This is an awesome desk. I love that it has enough room for my pc to be up on top as well and enough room for mouse movement when gaming. It was really easy to put together. It took me maybe 30-45 minutes of doing it at a slow pace by myself. It is very sturdy and looks so good!

Me parece que las fotos estas mejoradas y qué tal vez el escritorio tenga un valor proximado de menos de $4,500 (yo pague $7,200). 1) La pintura no es brillosa como se ve en las fotos 2) Los perfiles se abollan cuando aprietas la madera (soy mujer y yo los apreté sola cuidando mi fuerza y ni así) 3) Venía con detalles se golpeó en una de las 3 bases de metal (tal vez haya sido durante el transporte porque la caja también estaba algo lastimada) 4) De igual manera venía un rayón no muy profundo en la parte superior de la madera. No lo devolveré por la dificultad de hacerlo pero si lo hubiese visto en tienda no lo hubiese comprado. El lado positivo que tuvo es que fue realmente fácil armarlo. Lo arme yo sola sin ayuda de nadie y en 6 sencillos pasos terminas.

Bought 4 years ago. Moved houses, moved rooms, still going strong. I will most likely buy a 2nd one to convert my "L-shape" to a "C-shape" desk, for use with 2 people.

The size it’s so good, I can do my setup and I still have space for others tasks, the color is good and it’s so easy to build

Easy to assemble: It was really easy, probably easier than Ikea. But all jokes aside, you get a manual that tells you essentially what you gotta do, and all the screws connecting them use Allen keys which are provided to you. Sturdiness: I have my table set up in a corner, so it's pretty sturdy. I'm not sure how it would be if placed more "in the middle" but I'm sure it's sturdy enough that you can shake it around and it won't cause too much movement for your pc setup. Value for money: It was quite expensive at around $170 CAD totaled up. It's definitely not worth it from my standpoint, but for how much furniture costs and how I needed a much better table from the flimsy one I had on wheels, It's a massive upgrade. Overall, the table works out very nicely. the surface isn't smooth, but it's designed that way for aesthetic. However, This is a 3-star review for a reason. Firstly, the shipping. God was that a huge mess. The box was torn up and had a giant gash on it. The Styrofoam on the inside made a huge static mess, and the smell was awful. It smelt like it was near the dock overnight where the seagulls flocked around it. The worse part was that one of the plastic pieces holding the corners securely was completely busted and damaged one of the corners. Luckily it wasn't by much, but it was enough to make me almost consider trying to ship this back. I only had 1 corner and a small gash on the underside of the table, so luckily I can still use it to its full potential, but for the pricing, It wasn't worth it and I had to knock a star off. Secondly, The general build of the table isn't exactly appealing. The welds for each metal area looks terrible, but at least decent, and the screw holes on the wood aren't created too well, at least in my opinion because it took quite a bit of repositioning to get the screws to fit into the screw holes and screw them in tightly. And another thing was how sharp the corners of the table are. I ended up almost cutting my arm open when I accidentally grazed the corner and It hurt like crazy. It's definitely not safe for kids or clumsy people. And the laminate pieces that make up the wood aesthetic aren't great. After leaving my hand on it, It creates an imprint of condensation that evaporates and it easily stains from food oils and other small stains, but I think it might just be newer tables that have this issue. But generally, it still caused me to knock off a star. I'm not happy with this purchase, and I definitely could have done better with a smaller table, but I needed more space and this was the best choice I could go for that wasn't over $250. I do also want to mention that this shipped 4 days late, bu t I'm sure that's due to the pandemic, right? -.-

I purchased this desk because I needed a corner desk for my new office, and I was really not sure at first. But when I got it, it was so easy to assemble and the plan was well explained. The build quality is great and it is very solid. I have a dual monitor arm using a drill hole mount with a 34-inch ultrawide and a 32-inch screen, plus my gaming PC and peripherals all on the desk, and this thing can take it with no issue. So if you need a great L-shaped corner desk, get this one. You won't regret it!
